“Step back into a world of living heritage at Butser Ancient Farm’s Wood Fayre, held in partnership with the Hampshire Coppice Group. This lively weekend celebrates the rich traditions of woodland craft, bringing together talented makers and hands‑on demonstrations to inspire visitors of all ages.
Across the farm, skilled craftspeople will be showcasing a wide range of traditional techniques – from coppicing, charcoal burning, pole‑lathe turning and basketry to timber framing and joinery – bringing heritage skills vividly to life.

Hurdle and Spar competitions
An integral part of The Butser Ancient Farm Wood Fayre are the Hurdle and Spar making competitions.
Held on Sunday 12th of July at Butser ancient farm during the second day of the Wood Fayre the aim is to showcase coppice products to a wider ordinance.
