It is with the greatest of sadness that we heard of the passing of Alan Waters, a true legend of the coppice and charcoal industry.

Not only was Alan a founding member of both Hampshire and Surrey and Sussex Coppice Groups he was the reason many in the industry were active in both charcoal and other crafts such as besom making, hedge laying and hurdle making.

Our condolences go to all of his family including his coppice family and friends.
